Muscle and nerve relaxation lead to a feeling of ‘coolness’ during a massage. This sensation occurs due to the stimulation of muscles and nerves. When touched, muscles initially contract due to stimulation, but as the massage continues, they relax, resulting in a cooling sensation. The benefits of massage have already been proven through various studies. A study conducted by McMaster University in Canada analyzed the effects of massage on muscle pain relief in 11 adults. Participants were asked to cycle to induce muscle pain, after which massage was applied to one leg only. Muscle samples were taken from both thighs to observe cellular changes. The results showed that the leg receiving massage had a 30% increase in activation of genes involved in mitochondrial production (essential for cellular respiration) and a 30% decrease in genes that promote inflammation. This demonstrates the cell regeneration and anti-inflammatory effects of massaging. Additionally, according to a study published in the American Journal of Public Health, massage is effective in treating chronic headaches from tension.

24-Hour Cancellation Policy
At Aoki Head Spa, we understand that life can be busy and unexpected things happen. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we require at least 24 hours’ notice prior to your scheduled treatment.
If you cancel within the 24-hour period or do not arrive for your scheduled service, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $25. If the price of your scheduled service is less than $25, you will only be charged the remainder of the full service price.
Because we are reserving the room and service provider time, if you do not arrive at your appointment and have not cancelled your service within the 24-hour cancellation period, we will need to charge the full service price to the payment method on file to ensure our employees are properly compensated for their time.
Group Cancellation Policy
For groups of 3 or more guests, we require a notice of
one week for cancellation of treatments.
